Two Three Rivers men arrested after police chase in stolen vehicle

Two men are lodged in St. Joseph County Jail on multiple charges Tuesday after fleeing police in a stolen vehicle Monday.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Monday, June 8 deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department were sent to the area of Harrison Road near Crampton Road in Mottville Township to locate a stolen truck from Middlebury, Indiana. The truck was eventually located by detectives from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office on Bair Lake Street near the St. Joseph County line. 

The truck was followed to Hoffman Road near Day Road where deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department initiated pursuit. The truck was pursued to the area of Pulver Road near Bullock Road at which point spike strips were successfully deployed.

The pursuit ended on US 131 near Moorepark Road when the truck’s two occupants surrendered to police. According to authorities, the driver, a 28-year-old Three Rivers man, had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest, while the passenger, a 21-year-old male also from Three Rivers, was in possession of narcotics. Both remain lodged at St. Joseph County Jail pending arraignment.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Three Rivers Police Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
