As I stated last week, I have been very intentional about diversifying my Instagram feed over the last two weeks. It can be difficult to find diversity in the foodie, food blogger, and homemaker circles on social media, but that’s what we have hashtags for! This week, I would like to share some of my favorite Instagram accounts that are run by Black women.
Just like everything else in our society, I think that the food & home culture has been disproportionately dominated by white Americans, and that’s unfortunate, because food is such an important expression of cultural identity. If you’re a true foodie, then you already know that experiencing new flavors and food combinations is probably the best part of it.
Check out these accounts that have inspired me and have also been great to connect and interact with. Not all of them are only centered around food, but they all do post foodie content. An easy way to search for more Black food bloggers on your own is by using the hashtags #blackfoodblogger or #blackfoodie. Let me know who you find!
