Three Rivers Library Closing Its Doors for Downtown Move

As construction on its new facility at the corner of North Main and Pealer Streets nears completion, the Three Rivers Public Library has announced the date on which it will close its current West Michigan Avenue location.

Once it closes, staff and contractors will begin packing the library’s books, furniture, and equipment for the move to the new location. The library’s last day open prior to the move will be Monday, August 17.

Library staff expect the move to last into early September, after which it will resume operations in the new facility. According to the Facebook post announcing the date, items checked out on August 11 or after will be due on September 21.

In the midst of the ongoing pandemic, the library reopened earlier this summer with a  curbside pickup lending service that has proven busy and popular. Summer reading programs recently concluded. Because the move and the new facility may impact how programs and services are delivered, members of the public can watch the library’s Facebook page for updates on open hours, lending, and programs, as well as a final reopening date once the move is complete.
