The Three Rivers Woman’s Club (TRWC) announced on Tuesday the first recipient of its new Mary Snow Memorial Scholarship. The recipient, Trenton Goodrich of Three Rivers High School, plans to attend Kalamazoo Valley Community College to study nursing. In the meantime, Goodrich continues to work during summer break to help pay for college. After he graduates with his associate’s degree, Goodrich said he wants to “jump right in” and work as a critical care nurse to “help save lives.”

The scholarship is designated for award to a graduating senior who plans to attend a community college or trade school. It commemorates longtime TRWC member Mary Snow’s service to the community. The scholarship was developed by the Snow family and TRWC using generous donations made to the club in Mary’s honor after her passing in May 2019. The TRWC said it “thanks the community for helping to create this scholarship and wishes Trent all the best this fall at KVCC!”
