Two-vehicle crash in Florence Township sends pair to the hospital

A two-vehicle crash in Florence Township Tuesday sent two people to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Lutz Road near Featherstone Road at approximately 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26. Initial investigation into the incident revealed a 61-year-old Constantine woman was westbound on Featherstone Road approaching Lutz Road in a Chevrolet SUV when she failed to stop at a stop sign. The SUV entered the intersection and struck a Chevrolet mini-van driving Northbound on Lutz Road driven by a 58-year-old Union Point (Georgia) man. As mentioned previously, both drivers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Constantine Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance.
