Glen Oaks Community College Foundation announces 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient

Jade Couch Klingler, an entrepreneur and innovative leader in providing health care services in St. Joseph County, will receive the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award at Glen Oaks Community College during graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 6.

The annual award is presented by the Glen Oaks Community College Foundation to honor an alum who has made a significant impact in their chosen field, their community or at Glen Oaks.

Klingler received her Practical Nursing Certificate (2007) and Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (2008) from Glen Oaks Community College. While working at Coldwater Hospital, she pursued her BSN and MSN-FNP at Goshen College.

She worked at Sturgis Hospital and Colon Medical Clinic, where she learned about health care in small communities. Klingler’s experience led to her opening Revolution Health, PC, in Sturgis, a primary care general practice, seeing anyone of any age. Recently, she opened a second Revolution Health clinic in Colon. Both locations are staffed by nurse practitioners.

“Jade started Revolution Health in Sturgis in response to a community need for more healthcare providers and the need for a walk-in clinic,” wrote her nominator. “Many healthcare providers were retiring and leaving their practices.”

Revolution Health PC was voted Michigan Best of the Best family “physician” by the Sturgis Journal in 2017. Klingler and her practice are known for their generous community support and their commitment to their patients’ health. They were also a leader in providing community COVID testing.

Klinger joins 15 other alumni who have earned the Distinguished Alumni Award since its inception.

A record number of nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award were received this year by the Foundation. “We were thrilled by this year’s nomination results,” Foundation Alumni Committee chair Mary Fair Dechow said.  “The quality of nominations truly reflects the success of so many of our Glen Oaks alumni. Jade is a perfect example of someone who has gone full circle with her college association: She has not only put her education to work in our area, but she is also employing many GOCC nursing grads who are providing quality health care in our communities.”
