Cameron Bullock, chief executive officer of Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services of St. Joseph County, recently announced the opening of a new location in Sturgis to expand access to care within the county.

The building is located at 1555 E. Chicago Rd., Suite A and will be open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Services provided at this new location include assessment, outpatient therapy and group counseling. Individuals can call 269-467-1000 to schedule an appointment. Any person can receive services regardless of their insurance coverage or ability to pay.

“This is one of several initiatives underway to improve access to care,” Bullock said. “We are here to serve individuals in need of behavioral health services throughout the county. In addition to our Centreville office, home, and school-based services, adding convenient locations throughout our community is another way that we can better meet the mental health and substance use needs of our county.

“Our team is continuing to evaluate community needs and identify how we can adapt our services and structure to be a source of hope as we work with children, adults and families in St. Joseph County to ensure access to quality behavioral health services that are trauma informed, person centered and result in improved quality of life.”
