Three Rivers’ Portfolio Ink is providing another way to say ‘I love you’ this Valentine’s Day

For those in search of a unique way to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, Tattoo Date Night hosted by Portfolio Ink in downtown Three Rivers offers an opportunity for significant others to get inked and enjoy refreshments, games, and prizes.

Shop manager Jillian Gardner told Watershed Voice the event is a Valentine’s Day flash sale running from 2—7 p.m. Tuesday. “We have three artists participating, and it will be a walk-in event. First come, first served,” she said, “People will walk in and they will be able to come to the front, and we get them set up with the next available artist.” While waiting their turn, couples will be treated to refreshments and party games. There will also be a Portfolio Ink merchandise mug filled with Hershey’s Kisses, and the person to come closest to guessing how many chocolates are inside will win both the mug and the treats.

Gardner said the options for couple themed tattoos will vary. “(Some are) very matchy-matchy, like the exact same one on you and your partner. Some of them are a little bit different, like two different characters from the same realm — matching, but not the exact same thing.” Examples of the latter are available on Portfolio Ink’s Facebook page such as bacon and eggs, yin-yang symbols, or a moth and a fire sign. Tattoo prices will begin at $75 with most being completed in 30 minutes per person.

For those not looking for ink, the studio will be offering a piercing event. Also a walk-in special, it is a $30 fee for partners to be pierced. “It’s basically a buy-one-get-one situation,” Gardner said, “and all jewelry is still sold separately.”

Whether it be a new tattoo or piercing, Portfolio Ink is promising an unforgettable event for loved ones with the studio’s Facebook post saying it all: “What better way to say ‘I love you’ than exposing your pain tolerance to your significant other?”

Portfolio Ink is located at 32 N. Main Street in downtown Three Rivers.
