Glen Oaks’ Rodriguez signs to play volleyball for the University of Pikeville, KY

Glen Oaks Community College sophomore Yaricel “Tuti” Rodriguez signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball and academic career with the University of Pikeville, in Pikeville, Kentucky this past week.

A First Team All-Western Conference Player at Glen Oaks in 2022, her sophomore season, Rodriguez had 361 kills and averaged 3.76 kills per set. Rodriguez played for coaches Vince Strefling and Mike Crothers and will be playing for Head Coach Kris Kern at the University of Pikeville. 

Rodriguez is from Haines City High School in Kissimmee, Florida. She is working toward an Associate of Arts degree while minoring in psychology at Glen Oaks and plans to major in sports management. 

“We are very proud of Tuti’s accomplishments over the past two years and wish her well as she performs on the court and in the classroom at the next level,” Joel Mishler, GOCC’s athletic director, said.
