Meet Glen Oaks’ 2023 Presidential Scholars

Glen Oaks Community College announced its the 2023 Presidential Scholars earlier this month. They were recognized at the April meeting of the Glen Oaks Board of Trustees. The recipients are:

  • Eduardo Hernandez-Medina 
  • Brady Miller 
  • Addison Nally
  • Raina Wickey 

Eduardo Hernandez, of Three Rivers High School, plans to obtain a certificate in phlebotomy and pursue an Associate of Applied Science in Allied Health before transferring to Western Michigan University where he will work toward a bachelor’s degree for a career as a clinical laboratory technologist.

Brady Miller, of Centreville High School, will pursue a certificate in electrical technologies and become an electrician. He would someday like to create his own electrical business.

Addison Nally, of Clay High School, will enroll in the Glen Oaks welding program to develop his welding skills, specifically in the TIG (tungsten inert gas) process.

Raina Wickey, of Northridge High School, will pursue an Associate of General Studies and would like to attend Indiana University of South Bend to obtain her bachelor’s in Spanish and/or Elementary Education.

To qualify for the award, the recipient must be part of the graduating high school class of 2023 and attend a high school in St. Joseph County or the Glen Oaks service area. In addition, they must have a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative grade point average through the end of the first semester of the senior year, a SAT of 1110 or above or an ACT score of 24 or above, be a member of the National Honor Society or be in the top 10 percent of the class.
