Nominating petitions were due April 25 for those running for Three Rivers city office in the November 2023 election. First District Commissioner, Third District Commissioner, At-Large Commissioner, and Mayor are all on the ballot this fall, all of which come with two-year terms. Candidate petitions were to have no less than 30 or more than 50 signatures of registered electors of the City of Three Rivers.

Running against longtime Mayor Tom Lowry will be Vernis Mims, Jr., and Natelege Zaritz. Zaritz is set to be appointed to the planning commission at the May 2 Three Rivers City Commission meeting, and according to her advisory board application Zaritz has special interests in politics, real estate, home economics, and financial literacy.

First District Commissioner Pat Dane will be running against candidate John G. Kish. Third District Commissioner Christopher Abel will run unopposed. At-Large Commissioner Torrey Brown will run for re-election against opponent Jason Reeves.

The primary election will be held Tuesday, August 8, and the general election will be Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Write-in candidates may still join any of the aforementioned city races.
