One man was hospitalized after his car rolled over multiple times on Barron Lake Road in Cass County on Thursday evening.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Oscar Davis II of Elkhart, Indiana, was driving a vehicle northbound shortly before 8 p.m. when he looked down to pick up a pack of cigarettes.
Davis looked up and realized he was in the wrong lane, but ended up overcorrecting, which caused his car to roll multiple times. He was transported to South Bend Hospital with injuries.
The crash is under investigation. Police say alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor. Seatbelts were not worn.
Additional agencies that responded include Howard Fire and SMCAS Ambulance.
