The “Canadiana FestEH!val” is returning Saturday, September 21 to Kalmazoo. This year’s event takes place from 1-11 p.m. at Arcadia Creek Festival Place.
Festival organizers call it a great opportunity to experience Canadian warmth and community while also supporting local charities fighting hunger and providing scholarships for culinary students. Last year, the event raised more than $8,300, which went directly towards providing 45,650 meals to those in need.
Attendees can enjoy live performances from six award-winning bands, including Crystal Shawanda and Julius Fisher, and meet Rick Green from “The Red Green Show,” along with co-creator Eva Green. There will also be a poutine competition, a butter tart bakeoff, and a cosplay contest with big prizes.
“This promises to be a fun-filled day of Canadian culture and delicious food, all for a worthwhile cause,” Downtown Kalamazoo wrote on Facebook.
