Homeless Outreach Practiced Everyday (H.O.P.E.) will host its first “Walk for HOPE” this Saturday. The 10 a.m. event is taking place at Scidmore Park in Three Rivers.
The Walk for HOPE is a community outreach event where local businesses and organizations team up to walk a course in Scidmore Park in support of H.O.P.E.’s mission of providing emergency support for homeless and poor people in Three Rivers and St. Joseph County.
Food and music will be served during the event. All funds donated will go towards the nonprofit H.O.P.E.’s grassroots outreach work.
“We owe our success in the past year to all the amazing people in Three Rivers who have donated literally hundreds of items of clothing, food, household goods, furniture and much more, H.O.P.E. Board President Cindy King says. “It is the giving hearts of so many great people that gives us hope every day that we can help people and reduce poverty in Three Rivers.”
H.O.P.E. provides direct, face-to-face emergency support for people in Three Rivers and St. Joseph County throughout the year, and also hosts a monthly free laundry program called “Loads of Love.”
Anyone interested in volunteering or donating items is encouraged to stop by the Walk for HOPE.
