The St. Joseph County Road Commission (SJCRC) reviewed a draft budget for next fiscal year at a regular meeting Wednesday evening. Managing Director John Lindsey presented the draft to commission members with the caveat that they review it thoroughly and offer revisions before the next time they meet for a work session on December 16. The working 2021 draft budget currently includes a rough total of $12.5 million in projected revenues and $13.1 million in projected expenses.
Budgets
The Board of Directors for County Community Mental and Substance Abuse Services of St. Joseph County (CMH) tabled a proposal by Chief Executive Officer Kristine Kirsch to provide the agency’s employees a one-time bonus. Kirsch raised the proposal at CMH’s regular monthly board meeting on Tuesday evening in which each employee would receive $2,000 in recognition of their service and hard work during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners tabled a request by County Clerk Lindsay Oswald to fill a vacant deputy clerk position at an Executive Committee meeting Wednesday morning. It also reviewed two grant opportunities presented by Grant Administrator James Hissong.
The Three Rivers City Commission passed a resolution to adopt its proposed 2020-2021 Fiscal Year budget at its regular meeting Tuesday, as well as a user fee ordinance update, following two prior public hearings.
The Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees discussed reopening procedures with staff Thursday, approved a reduced budget for 2020-21, and were provided a capital improvements update.
The Lockport Township Board held both its regular and annual meetings Monday evening, where it voted to approve amendments to its 2019-2020 budget and to adopt its 2020-2021 FY budget.
