A 16-year-old Three Rivers girl died Monday as a result of a car vs. pedestrian crash in Fabius Township, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department announced it will conduct overtime speed enforcement beginning on December 1, continuing through the end of February 2023. The initiative, which is also being deployed by the Michigan State Police and a number of municipalities statewide, hopes to curve a recent spike in speed-related fatalities.

A White Pigeon man died early this morning in a collision between a pickup truck and a bicycle in Constantine Township. According to a Sheriff’s Office press release, deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department responded just before 5 a.m. to the area of Riverside Drive and Blue School Road. The bicyclist, a 35-year-old White Pigeon resident named Timothy Slabaugh, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries he received in the collision.
