Folks from Kalamazoo, Three Rivers, White Pigeon, Centreville and other surrounding communities were treated to two-and-a-half hours of poetry and spoken word, rap, hip hop, gospel and folk/Americana music to raise money for local, independent journalism.

The Watershed Voice Artist Showcase will return this Saturday, July 30 with nearly twice as many acts as last year, with 11 scheduled to perform. The second annual showcase will include poetry, rap, hip-hop, gospel and folk/Americana music, with some comedy thrown in for good measure.
Local recording artist and producer Mitchie Moore released a new full-length album on November 27. Moore virtually sat down with Watershed Voice this weekend to discuss the album, which he describes as experimental hip-hop/rap, with inspirations from electronic music.
The St. Joseph County Democratic Party is hosting an event at Memory Isle Park in downtown Three Rivers this Sunday. Called “Dems on Mem,” organizers characterize the event as a pre-election rally. It will feature a number of candidates for Federal, state, and local offices, and the schedule will also include live music, speeches, and an informal candidate meet-and-greet.
Mikel Watkins found his way into music through adversity. He struggled through a difficult upbringing and addiction, finding his way to stability through music production and artistry.
