Deputies Respond to Armed Robbery

Law enforcement officers responded to an armed robbery in Lockport Township early Friday morning. At approximately 2:19 a.m., deputies from the St. Joseph’s County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a location on North Main Street, according to a press release by Sheriff Mark A. Lillywhite. They were joined by officers from the Three Rivers Police Department.

The victim had been approached in his vehicle by a suspect who displayed a pistol and demanded the victim’s wallet. The suspect then fled southbound, speeding, driving an early-2000s model dark colored, four-door sedan. The suspect’s vehicle was last reported traveling south on Main Street in the vicinity of Fourth Street. The suspect was described as a black male approximately in his 30s with scraggly facial hair.

The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information regarding the suspect or the vehicle to contact Deputy Harman at the Sheriff’s Department by calling 269-467-9045, extension 337.
