Angola Man Flown to Hospital After Colon Township Wreck

A 39-year-old man was transported by Air Care to an area hospital after an accident in Colon Township this past Saturday morning. According to a press release by St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite, Deputies responded at about 7:23 a.m. to a location near Burr Oak Road and West Palmer Lake Road. Craig Holman of Angola, Indiana had crossed the center line of the road, left the roadway to his left, and struck a series of trees.

Emergency response personnel had to extricate Holman from his vehicle at the scene. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, and his airbag deployed. Speed was not a factor in the accident, nor was alcohol or drugs. There were no other persons or vehicles involved in the accident.

In their response at the scene, Deputies received assistance from the Colon Police and Fire Deparments, the Burr Oak Fire Department, Life Care, Air Care, and Bowers Wrecker.
