Screen Tea Podcast: Needle in a Timestack

Leslie Odom Jr. in Needle in a Timestack (2021, IMDb)

Welcome to Screen Tea Podcast! This week, Lisha and Jules have a treat for you, in the form of the best-titled film in film history: John Ridley’s 2021 romance/sci-fi/fantasy Needle in a Timestack! Yep. Needle. In a Timestack. Don’t be too quick to judge; as much crap as your hosts give the title, they heap on the praise in equal measure. Listen up as Lisha dies on a few hills (and has an Orlando Bloom-related epiphany), Jules admires some stellar cinematography, and both of your hosts play spot-the-hidden-JJ Abrams (look, let’s just say we found the needle, and it’s a LENS FLARE). This one was a roller coaster; a star-studded, beautiful, hot mess of a roller coaster, so enjoy the ride!

Your hosts Lisha and Jules are an artist and a mental health professional. Have fun figuring out which is which, but also…be careful not to mess it up. They hail from Michigan, love movies, and served tacos at their lesbian wedding.
