An 18-year-old broke into a Dollar General early Tuesday morning in Centreville and alcohol appears to have been the motivating factor.

Deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to an alarm activation at the Centreville Dollar General on Tuesday, March 29 at approximately 1 a.m. Upon arrival authorities discovered the front glass door had been shattered, and proceeded to clear the building. Aided by a a Michigan State Police K9, deputies were able to locate an 18-year-old who admitted to breaking into the Dollar General to get beer.

The Sheriff’s Department is requesting charges for breaking and entering, and minor in possession of alcohol.
