The Huss Project’s Second Saturdays Art Market kicks off this weekend

The Huss Project Farmers Market debuted last Saturday and will return this weekend, only this time with art vendors and live music in addition to its usual market fare.

*culture is not optional Executive Director Rob Vander Giessen-Reitsma said the concept of Second Saturdays was developed, in part, to bring some of the spirit of the organization’s Future Festival to the farmers market.

“In 2020 and 2021, we needed to cancel our annual Future Festival event because of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Vander Giessen Reitsma said. “Future Festival was our attempt to live into the future we hoped for at the Huss Project, celebrating the creativity in our community once each summer. When we considered whether we should bring back the festival in 2022, we realized that the future is now.”

The Huss Project’s weekly farmers market includes kids activities, baked good vendors, a book sale and more. Second Saturdays will add a few more elements from Future Festival, with art vendors and live music, every second Saturday during the market season. The *cino crew hopes to add a few more special components to Second Saturdays, and will announce those when they’re confirmed.

The following is a list of vendors and musical acts scheduled to appear at Second Saturdays this summer:
