Kadant Johnson makes $50,000 pledge to Three Rivers Promise

The Three Rivers Promise received a huge boost to its fundraising efforts this week when Kadant Johnson pledged $50,000 to the scholarship program. In addition, Kadant Johnson will match all corporate donations up to an additional $50,000. The locally based company will go a step further, inviting all its employees to donate to the Promise with the guarantee of a matching donation from Kadant Johnson.

“We are fortunate to have this opportunity to support the youth and families in our community with this program,” President of Kadant Johnson Wes Martz said. “Investing in the Three Rivers Promise will help build resiliency into our community and offers the potential to change the life trajectory for generations of students to come. We are proud to be a supporter of this important initiative.”

Kadant Johnson, a division of Kadant Inc. (NYSE: KAI), was founded in 1930 in Three Rivers, and is a leading provider of rotary joints, precision unions, and fluid handling systems and equipment used to optimize the transfer of power, fluid, and data in rotary sealing applications found in process industries.

Three Rivers Promise Board President Tom Lowry expressed gratitude for Kadant’s generosity, and the potential this offer has to help reach the Promise’s fundraising goal.

“I would urge other businesses and community members to make your pledge at this time,” Lowry said. “It will be leveraged into a greater amount because of the kindness of Kadant Johnson. The Three Rivers Promise will not only help future TR High School graduates to pursue post-secondary education, it will change our community for the better.”

The Three Rivers Promise aims to provide financial assistance for college or a vocational education to Three Rivers High School graduates. The Promise is funded by contributions from individuals and businesses interested in supporting the quality of life in Three Rivers by increasing the number of residents with post-secondary skills.

Three Rivers Promise had raised in excess of $430,000 prior to Kadant’s generous contribution. Those interested in helping the organization reach its $3,000,000 goal are invited to donate at threeriverspromise.com.
