Immaculate Conception School in Three Rivers recently celebrated Catholic Schools Week. This is a nation-wide celebration to recognize the gift of education that is provided by these institutions.

Each day has a separate theme, one of which was “Celebrating our Nation.” Students capped off their week by inviting Det. Sgt. Sam Smallcombe from the Three Rivers Police Department for lunch and a Q&A session.

During their time together Smallcombe answered questions ranging from “what is your favorite reptile?” (answer: “none of them”) to questions about working as a detective. Smallcombe shared his journey as a public servant, and said his favorite part of being a detective is helping the community. Smallcombe is also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Immaculate Conception School is an accredited school teaching students from preschool to grade 8. ICS is located at 601 S Douglas Ave. in Three Rivers.
