Kalamazoo residents can drop off scrap tires for free this summer

Residents in the Kalamazoo area will soon be able to get rid of scrap tires free of charge, thanks to a service being offered by the Kalamazoo Conservation District this summer.

There will be three opportunities for residents to drop off passenger tires (with rims removed) during the 2024 collection period.

Tire collections will take place June 11, July 11, and August 7, and will run from 1 to 7 p.m. (June 11) at the City of Kalamazoo parking lot, 322 Stockbridge Ave, Kalamazoo; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (July 11) at Swan Park, 50 East VW Ave., Vicksburg; and 3 to 7 p.m. (August 7) at the Comstock Township Transfer Station, 6604 East Main St., Comstock.

Appointments are required. If you would like to sign up for one of these events, click here.

If you have questions, call the Kalamazoo Conservation District office at 269-775-3368 or send an email to [email protected]. (Do not call the City of Kalamazoo, Schoolcraft Township or Comstock Township with questions)
