Racist policies shaped a neighborhood. Its lone banking institution helps people overcome

The Northside is one of Kalamazoo’s poorest neighborhoods. It’s also 83% Black. But the neighborhood of 4,500 residents has just one banking institution: Advia Credit Union at 706 N. Westnedge Ave. It’s carrying the load to help Northside residents build financial security.

Sayrie: Don’t be complicit, be an antiracist

Community Conversations series begins today at Three Rivers Public Library

The Three Rivers Public Library will host the first in a series of Community Conversations today Thursday, July 15 in downtown Three Rivers. The library won a national grant that allowed the staff to host a series of book talks and open conversations to explore the topics of diversity and inclusion.
