Commissioners unanimously approved all agenda items, including an amendment to the county early voting site agreement, a box hangar lease transfer, and the demolition of 318 S. Main St.
To encourage participation in the democratic process, Cass County Clerk/Register Monica McMichael’s office is hosting a design contest to choose the words that will be used on the county’s “I Voted” sticker for Election Day.
“Allowing young people to pre-register to vote — particularly while they’re learning about civics and the democratic process in school — will undoubtedly increase participation in our elections by ensuring when they are legally eligible to vote at 18, they will be all set to become a lifelong voter,” Rep. Betsy Coffia (D-Traverse City) said in a statement released after the vote on the bill.
