As state election workers prepare to tally selections for each party’s preferred presidential candidate today, here are four key things to watch.
Michigan Primary
Right-wing commentator Tudor Dixon has a big lead Tuesday night in Michigan’s GOP gubernatorial primary, likely setting her up to challenge Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in the Nov. 8 general election.
Katie Sweeney of Park Township contends township residents have “not been properly informed” of a proposed millage that, if passed, would result in an increase of up to .5 mills to help fund road repairs within the township over a four-year period. The issue will appear on the upcoming Michigan Primary ballot on Tuesday, August 3.
Watershed Voice sent out questionnaires to over 75 candidates running for elected positions in St. Joseph County and the surrounding area. In the days leading up to the Michigan Primary on August 4, Watershed will publish the questionnaires it received back as well as an election preview. Andrew George, a Democratic candidate for First District county commissioner, filled out WSV’s questionnaire ahead of Tuesday’s primary.
