Former Three Rivers DDA executive director Brian Persky is moving up in the world after earning an expanded role with Discover Kalamazoo, the local convention and visitors bureau for Kalamazoo County.

“Brian Persky has moved into a new role as Director of Business Development and will now oversee our business development and services team which includes both the sports event market and meeting sales market,” a post announcing the change on Discover Kalamazoo’s Facebook page reads. “Brian will oversee all sports, meeting sales, and services strategies and budgets to drive incremental business for the Kalamazoo hospitality and tourism industry.”

Persky, who began at Discover Kalamazoo in December of 2015 as the sports sales manager, most recently served as the director of sports event development, leading and managing the development and promotional efforts required to solicit, secure, and host sports-related events in and around Kalamazoo.

Discover Kalamazoo also announced that Madysen Doyle will now serve as senior manager of sports event development, “taking the lead on existing sports event business and managing all sports event services and sports event marketing efforts.”

“Congratulations to our Discover Kalamazoo Sports team members!” Discover Kalamazoo said in the aforementioned Facebook post. “We’re excited to continue promoting Kalamazoo as a sports destination and providing our local events and sport organizations with the best service and experience possible.”
