Second Precinct Commissioner Travis Klinger announced his resignation, effective at the end of April, at the close of Wednesday’s Sturgis City Commission meeting.

“Life moves pretty fast, and if you don’t stop you’re going to miss it,” he said. “I’ve got a lot of life going on right now, I’ve got a lot of things happening with my family and my home life, a lot of changes that are coming, as well, that I’d like to be at the upmost presence for.”

Klinger called it a “really big blessing” to work with his fellow commissioners and the people who serve the City of Sturgis as staff members for the past four years.

“I have a lot of gratitude for each and every one of you and everything you’ve taught me. I hope that whoever replaces me takes this as serious as I do and cares as much as I do.”
