Three Rivers Area Mentoring hosting annual walleye dinner Saturday

Three Rivers Area Mentoring (TRAM) will be hosting their annual “Walleye Dinner and Silent Auction” fundraiser this Saturday to benefit TRAM’s youth programming. Hosted by Fraternal Order of Eagles #2303 on March 25, tickets are available for purchase for $17 at Lowry’s Books.

TRAM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was created in 1994, with a focus on matching school-aged youth/mentees with adult or high school age volunteers/mentors. The program’s mission statement says, “Through one-to-one mentor/student relationships, TRAM strives to empower young people to pursue excellence, productivity and responsibility; to succeed in school, friend and family relationships; and to combat substance abuse and violence.” The overall goal of TRAM is to encourage youth to see the value of education, graduate from high school, and to pursue further education necessary for their chosen vocation/occupation.

While walleye will certainly be on the menu for the event Saturday evening, chicken will also be an option. Other menu items will include fries, hush puppies, cole slaw, and cookies. Water will be available, and the Eagles will have their bar open for those wishing to purchase any other drinks.

The silent auction portion of the night will have several items donated by the community available for bidding. One donation is a beauty basket from Beauty by Kathie Salon, which includes a $100 gift certificate and is valued at $160. Other auction items are a handcrafted cherry wood, live-edge table made by Tim Tole, a restaurant-style brick oven pizza-making kit donated by Southern Michigan Bank and Trust, a tower bird feeder and bird house donated by Ottawa Wild Bird Supply, and two mugs with two gift certificates for a free beverage from Biggby Coffee.

The walleye dinner and silent auction is from 5-8 pm on March 25, and located at Fraternal Order of Eagles #2303 715 E. Hoffman St. Tickets can also be purchased by emailing TRAM at [email protected]. Donations of items or gift certificates for the silent auction can be made by calling (269) 278-8726.
