Marcellus teen injured in single-vehicle crash

Sixteen-year-old taken to hospital for treatment

A 16-year-old crashed his pickup truck into trees west of the intersection of Miller and Cranberry Roads in Marcellus Township Monday, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the scene at approximately 9:44 p.m. on Monday, February 26, where they found the vehicle unoccupied. An initial investigation into the crash showed the Marcellus teen had failed to maintain control of the vehicle at the intersection before leaving the west side of the roadway and crashing into the trees.

The boy was taken to Bronson Hospital for treatment.

It’s unclear whether the 16-year-old was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors. The crash is currently under investigation.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Marcellus Fire Department.
