A summer reading adventure awaits at the Three Rivers Public Library

Registration for the Three Rivers Public Library summer reading program, “Adventure Begins at Your Library,” is now open. The program, open to all ages, runs through August 10.

Sign up at the library (88 N. Main St., Three Rivers) and get ready to embark on a literary adventure.

The program is divided into three age groups: Children (Ages 2-12, grades pre-k through fifth), teens (12-18, grades 6-12) and adults (18+). Participants can expect reading challenges, special author visits, an ice cream float kickoff, and more.

Children will have an eight-week reading log and will earn prizes along the way for reading at least four days a week. The program is for ages 2-12, grades pre-K-5th. Rising 6th graders can choose to participate in the teen or children’s summer reading program.

Teens (ages 12-18 and grades 6-12) will receive a punch card, which will be punched for each book they read. Three card hole punches will enter the reader into a raffle drawing for the year-end grand prize, and a spin on the prize wheel. Teens can get as many punch cards as they desire. There will be a big summer reading wrap up foam party on Saturday, August 3 at 1 p.m. at Memory Isle Park.

Adults can earn tickets for prize baskets for every program they attend, bingo sheet they complete, and 60 minutes of reading checked off on their reading log. Those who complete the summer reading program will be entered into the grand prize drawing for a YETI Hopper Flip Portable Cooler.

Whatever your age, be sure to join the library this Saturday, June 8 starting at 11 a.m. for the summer reading program ice cream float kickoff. The event is scheduled to go until 1 p.m. but only as supplies last.
