The City of Kalamazoo provided an update this week on traffic shifts and closures caused by ongoing construction on Whites Road, Westnedge Avenue, and Inkster Street.

Whites Road: According to the city, the water main between Oakland and Parkview is almost complete and active work on the area was extended from Westnedge to near Bronson on Tuesday. The area will become eastbound only, while through traffic will remain eastbound.

Westnedge Avenue: Work is progressing on schedule. Traffic shifted from the west side of the road to the east side on Tuesday. Traffic will return to the west side near Whites to align with the traffic signal. Traffic will remain southbound only.

Inkster Street/Bronson Boulevard: The old bridge over Inkster Street and Bronson Boulevard has been removed and a new structure is being prepared for construction. Inkster and Bronson will remain closed at the bridge. The city is asking drivers to obey a 25 mph speed limit in the area.
