Glen Oaks’ Devier to receive lifetime achievement award

Dr. David Devier

Dr. David Devier, president of Glen Oaks Community College, will be honored by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) with the 2024 Michael Bennett Lifetime Achievement Award.

Devier will be recognized at the PTK Catalyst 2024 convention in Orlando, Florida, taking place today through April 6. The award is given to retiring college presidents for their support of student success initiatives that have resulted in stronger pathways to completion, transfer, and employment.

The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating college presidents who have made student success a priority throughout their careers. This award is especially significant because it is directly from the students and their gratitude for the support they receive, both inside and outside of the classroom.

Devier is one of nine retiring college presidents and chancellors who will receive the award, which is named in honor of the late Dr. Michael Bennett, longtime president of St. Petersburg College in Florida.
