A 55-year-old Osceola resident was transported to the hospital Friday after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a large tree in Milton Township.

James Harker Jr. was transported to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash, which happened at about 7:40 p.m. Friday near the intersection of U.S. 12 and Conrad Road. Harker was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been factors.

The crash remains under investigation. Ontwa Township Police assisted deputies at the scene.
