Glen Oaks offering summer program for students needing help with English, math

Glen Oaks Community College (GOCC) is now accepting students who plan to attend the college in the Fall to enroll in the Ready, Set, GO! program for college English and math recovery.

The four-day academic readiness program is designed to help students who recently graduated from high school and experienced interruptions to in-person learning due to the COVID pandemic. The program will run from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. over four days, beginning July 11. Participants will receive school supplies, breakfast, lunch, snacks, and a laptop to use during the program.

On Days 1-3, students will prepare for college-level English and Math courses, discover campus and community resources, and participate in student success activities. On Day 4, celebrate with your peers at Airway Fun Center (All costs are covered!). In addition, students who attend all sessions are eligible to receive up to a $500 stipend.

Only 40 people will be able to enroll in the program, so students are encouraged to apply soon. To apply, click here.
