A Senior Resource and Caregiver Fair will be held in Three Rivers next week

The St. Joseph County Human Services Commission (HSC) will host a Senior Resource and Caregiver Fair on Wednesday, May 8 in Three Rivers.

The event, made possible by a $2,000 grant from the Sturgis Area Community Foundation’s Healthy Youth and Healthy Seniors Fund, will provide an opportunity for Adult Services Network, a work group of the HSC, to connect older residents and their caregivers with local services and resources. The fair will run from 9 a.m. to noon at Beacon Health & Fitness in Three Rivers.

Attendees will enjoy a continental breakfast and have information sessions from about 30 community partners. Door prizes will be awarded, and a raffle will be held for gift cards and a lift chair grand prize.

Topics are expected to include social groups and activities, volunteer opportunities, insurance, home repair, Meals on Wheels, food supports, assisted living facilities, medical equipment supports, disability needs and more.

Anyone needing help with transportation to this event can contact the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority at (269) 273-7808 at least 48 hours in advance for a free ride within St. Joseph County.
