How to participate in Spring Cleaning Volunteer Day at the Huss Project Saturday

If you have a student in need of volunteer hours or are looking for an opportunity to help a local nonprofit ahead of its busy farmer’s market season in June, the Huss Project is hosting its Spring Cleaning Volunteer Day in Three Rivers Saturday.

The event will take place at Huss (1008 8th St.) from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, May 20. Projects will be available for all ages and abilities, including garden bed preparation, planting, and general cleaning. Onsite caretaker Margaret Wenger said volunteers can meet up under the Huss Farm pavilion located by the smokestack at the back of the building.

If you can’t make it Saturday, there will be more opportunities to volunteer over the summer. “We’re excited to be introducing more volunteer opportunities on the farm this year starting this Saturday,” Wenger said. “We’ll also be hosting volunteers on Thursday mornings from 9-12 a.m. beginning in June. We hope that these opportunities will be chances for folks to connect with the farm, each other, and the food they eat.”
