Classic horror comedy blooms at Southwestern Michigan College

Southwestern Michigan College Theatre Department presents “Little Shop of Horrors!”

The Southwestern Michigan College Theatre Department is set to present the classic horror comedy “Little Shop of Horrors!” opening tonight Thursday, March 21, at the Dale A. Lyons Building on the Dowagiac Campus.

Exceptional things can happen in unexpected places! Set in Skid Row, Los Angeles, during the 1960s, “Little Shop of Horrors” illuminates a failing plant shop owner, his meek shop hand Seymour, and a down-and-out clerk named Audrey, who experience success overnight due to the discovery of a strange plant.

The plant brings the shop fame, fortune, blood, and a desire for world domination. This camp cult classic explores admiration, despair, envy, and whether one can truly handle getting what they wish for.

“Little Shop of Horrors” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on March 21-23, and at 2 p.m. on March 24. Tickets are on sale now by calling 269.782.1280 or at swmich.edu/performances.
