Author Wade Rouse a.k.a. ‘Viola Shipman’ to speak at Riviera Theatre in May

The Three Rivers Public Library, in conjunction with Lowry’s Books and the Riviera Theatre, will host an evening with author Wade Rouse on Thursday, May 30 at the Riviera Theatre. The event is free and will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Rouse is an internationally bestselling author of nine books, which have been translated into nearly 20 languages. Wade chose his grandmother’s name, Viola Shipman, as a pen name to honor the woman whose heirlooms and family stories inspire his fiction.

Wade’s novels include The Charm Bracelet, a 2017 Michigan Notable Book of the Year; The Hope Chest; and The Recipe Box.

Rouse earned his B.A. from Drury University and has a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. He splits his time between Saugatuck, Michigan, and Palm Springs, California, and also mentors students to be come published authors themselves in his role as a writing teacher.
